In Annapolis, dinghy docks are located wherever any public street ends at the water. Boats may not be left on public docks for more than two consecutive nights, or ten nights per year total. The only exception is the dinghy dock at Kunta Kinte Park in Ego Alley, where the maximum length is 17’ and no engine restrictions. The size restrictions for the dinghy docks are LOA of 12’ or less, engines no greater than 25 horsepower, and can be secured with only one bow line.
Popular examples of dinghy docks include the bulkhead at the end of Market Slip (Ego Alley), the floating docks at the end of Prince George Street, Shipwright Street in St. Mary’s Cove, Market St., Acton's Landing, and Taney Avenue. Chesapeake Bay Magazine wrote a dinghy landing guide that includes descriptions, pictures, and a map.
