Alderman Kenneth A. Kirby

Alderman, Ward Six Kenneth A. Kirby (D)

Kenny Kirby was born in Annapolis and grew up in Obery Court. His family is part of Annapolis' heritage. His grandfather was a waterman and his mother, Geraldine, was well known to Annapolitans as the person who could always spare a little love for a kid in the old 4th Ward.

Kenny cut his teeth playing basketball, first under legendary Coach Larrimore at Annapolis High School, then in Morlanwelz, Belgium and Boston. But Kenny always kept a community focus, whether it was in Annapolis, Boston or Atlanta.

In Annapolis, Kenny was a co-founder of Concerned Black Males of Annapolis, worked in public housing recreation programs and as a Youth Ambassador at Annapolis High School. His concerns include housing, crime and equal economic opportunity. He has three children, Kenny Jr., Kahla and Kennita.
