The Annapolis Police Department received a grant from the Governor's Office of Crime Control and Prevention to fund the Capital City Safe Streets Initiative. The initiative has brought together federal, state and local resources to combat crime, focus on violent individuals, and provide an aspect of social outreach. This PowerPoint was presented to state and local officials to provide a unique look at the various agencies involved as well as the progress that has been made under the initiative.

A Safe Zone is a crime prevention strategy designed to be used in neighborhoods that are experiencing problems with violence and/or drugs. It is an effective tool for stabilizing these neighborhoods and an opportunity to interact in a positive manner with the residents by bringing community and social programs directly to them.
