Upper Main Street Closed to Vehicles During Evening Hours on June 9

Annapolis, MD (6-5-14) Annapolis Mayor Michael Pantelides announced that the repair of a crosswalk on the upper portion of Main Street will require a street closing from early evening on Monday, June 9 through early Tuesday morning.

Public Works crews will be repairing the crosswalk at Chancery Lane next Monday, June 9, beginning at 7 p.m. with a rain date of Tuesday, June 10.  The repair will involve removing the brick surface, and replacing it with a bituminous concrete (asphalt) surface with pavement markings.  This work is being done in advance of the reconstruction of Main Street, which is expected to begin early 2015.

The top of Main Street from Conduit Street to Church Circle will be closed to vehicular traffic from 7 p.m. Monday until no later than 7 a.m. on Tuesday.

Due to the closing of upper Main Street and the truck restrictions on State Circle, trucks will not be allowed on Main Street beyond Market Space until upper Main Street is reopened and should use alternative routes.
