City Receives Additional $644K in Highway User Revenue from State

Annapolis, MD (4-24-14) Annapolis Mayor Michael Pantelides announced that Annapolis will receive a one-time Highway User Revenue (HUR) grant from the State in addition to the $355,000 annual allotment.

The Maryland Transportation Code mandates that Highway User Revenue be applied to transportation projects, including road and infrastructure projects.

The City plans to use the additional $644,355 in HUR funds to repair Main Street. This money, combined with other State funding, will cover approximately 60% of the estimated $2 million project cost.

The grant is paid quarterly starting July 1, 2014.
