Annapolis Police Arrest Two Robbery Suspects

On December 7, 2013 at 1:21 a.m. Detectives from the Annapolis Police Department arrested Aaron Carbaugh, 34, of Shady Side, for the armed robbery of the 7-11 at 1527 Forest Dr that occurred December 4.  Carbaugh is also responsible for the armed robbery at the same 7-11 that occurred on October 6, 2013.

On December 4, 2013 at 2:50 a.m. Annapolis police officers were dispatched to the 7-11 located at 1527 Forest Dr.  Store employees said a man wearing a mask came into the business, immediately displayed a handgun and demanded money from the register.  After taking the money the man fled the area on foot. During the investigation, Detectives were able to tie Carbaugh to the robbery through a vehicle he stole from a former employer.  Officers recovered the vehicle in the 1600 block Forest Dr hours after the robbery. A search of the vehicle led to the recovery of evidence believed to be related to the robbery.

Carbaugh was charged with armed robbery, robbery, first and second degree assault, and theft less than $100.  He is being held at the Jennifer Road Detention Center on $300,000.  Service is pending for a warrant for the October 6 robbery.

On December 6, 2013 Kory Johnson, 22, of Davidsonville was arrested and charged for an unrelated robbery that occurred on December 2 in the unit block of Bens Dr.  Johnson was charged with armed robbery, robbery, theft less than $100, and handgun on person.  He was released after posting $100,000 bond.

“Officers and detectives worked with a sense of urgency in identifying and arresting two people accountable for several robberies,” said Annapolis Police Chief Michael Pristoop.  “Their work is commendable.  Nobody is happy about the crimes, but we are for the outcome.”
