Annapolis Recreation and Parks held the 5th annual Truxtun Youth Triathlon on June 19, 2011

The Truxtun Youth Triathlon (TYT) is an annual event that challenges kids (ages 7-17) to complete a swim, bike and run event in a highly supportive and motivating community environment. The Truxtun Youth Triathlon has grown into an incredibly rewarding day, with more than 200 youth athletes and their families joining us for a heart warming and challenging experience.

The first of its kind youth triathlon series in Maryland, promoting sun-safe practices, encouraging healthy lifestyle choices through multisport, and showing kids that winning is finishing what you start!

With four premier youth triathlons all within an hour of each other, there has never been a better time to try a triathlon — or add a second, third or fourth to your race calendar! All children completing two or more Maryland Youth Tri Series events will receive a certificate of recognition from the State of Maryland. Individual event registrations are now open. TRI-iT Fun Festival - Annapolis Recreation and Parks, in partnership with Chesapeake Family Magazine, held the TRI-iT Fun Festival on Saturday, June 18th on the fields at Truxtun Park (next to the "Pip" Moyer Recreation Center.)
