Mathew Silverman was born in Brooklyn, New York, and raised in East Brunswick, New Jersey. He moved to Maryland to pursue a career in Federal Law Enforcement. He’s resided in the City of Annapolis for 5 years. He is currently an Anne Arundel County Police officer assigned to Southern District of which Annapolis is a large part.
With his experience in public safety, Mathew was chosen to serve as the Alderman representing the Committee Members for the Public Safety Transition Team.
He has acquired a Bachelor of Science in Administration of Justice, Mountain State University, West Virginia, and a Master of Science in Criminal Justice, Southwest University, Louisiana. Silverman’s extensive Public Safety experience includes five years as a Police Officer/Special Agent, US Capitol Police, three years as a Federal Air Marshal/Instructor, US Department of Homeland Security, and five years as a Firefighter, East Brunswick/Old Bridge Fire Department.
