Rick Kissel, Vice Chairman



Mission Statement


As a long-time sailor, I have experienced, in a very personal way, the unconscionable deterioration of the health of the Chesapeake and its tributaries.  This is a driving force behind my desire to be part of the AEC, where I can be an effective advocate for Smart Growth, which is fundamental to reversing the continuing degradation the City has experienced throughout most, if not all of its history.

Arlington Echo / Watershed Stewards Academy: Master Watershed Steward Certification.
Sierra Club, AA County Group:Member, Executive Committee
U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary:Retired, previously active in Public Education, Vessel Inspection and Patrols. Conducted Baltimore Harbor Pollution patrols involving inspection of outfalls from public and private land-based facilities, discharge from ships and small vessels at anchor, water quality at marinas, etc.
